Time tracking - online and offline

Posted on August 4, 2006 - Filed Under Links

Recently I’ve discovered two new tools to do time tracking. Both I find very useful, however they are completely different… First one is online tool and second good old paperwork. I see how You laughed on paper based time tracking… Well it is not so bad as You think. Let me explain why it is not such pain.

First - what? This is David Seash’s (aka The PrintableCEO) Emergent Task Timer. It is dead simple, and efficient. It is on paper and this sometimes a real advantage. Does not require Internet access, does not require You to install something on PC and is portable. A sheet of paper is easy to take with You…

Second tool is something really different. It is SlimTimer by Richard White. AJAX application, with simple not intrusive UI, easy embeds into FF sidebar. If Your work is Internet related, this is good tool - Internet access is required all the time ;-) Try it and probably You love it, especially if You are Web 2.0 follower ;-)

Thanks for the shout out. I’m working on reducing the requirements :) Should see an offline browser version of the application later on this month and possibly some cell phone integration.

    Thanks.
