IE JavaScript & DOM debugging

Posted on October 29, 2006 - Filed Under JavaScript, Links

Well, my last post about IE have resulted in some feedback, so I write some afterword

First, there are some Developers Toolbar for IE like IE Developer Toolbar from MS, or DebugBar (http://www.debugbar.com/). Currently I’m using MS one and it is good enough for me.

Debuggers for JavaScript are available at least two from MS. One is MS Script Editor (part of MS Office) and second is standalone MS Script Debugger. I have tried both of them and to simple JS debugging I find second one useful. So when You leave prejudice to IE it can be used for some developing, but still I would avoid when possible (maybe some happy day IE will have something like 7% mkt sh…)

I just installed DebugBar and it was nice while I was able to use it, then it crashed my IE7. I had to uninstall it to be able to open Internet Explorer again.

    Hi,

The DebugBar version 4.0 had a conflict with the Google Desktop IE dll.
We corrected this problem and released a version 4.01 (and 4.02 to correct another little bug).

So, maybe the new version should correct your problem.

Do not hesitate to contact the DebugBar team, if not ! ;-)

    Thank you.

    JFR
