Rails meeting

I have just returned from local Rails community meeting, which had been this evening in Chlodna 25 in Warsaw. Event was interesting, despite topics were much more related to business aspects of, well web 2.0 or something like this, than to Rails itself.

There was nice presentation of Radiant CMS (I have to try it in some future…) and Michal Jagodzinski’s spoke his thoughts concerning e-business seen through his experience with butik.pl (something like CafePress).

Discussion was interesting, however it have made in my opinion about startups in Poland:

IMO Rails is totally unknown in Poland. Why? Rails is great tools for startup. But, unfortunately in Poland there is no good environment for high-tech startups. Really bad. On the side – You could not understand this before You meet with polish IRS, quality of law, and many others?
